Transport Manager
Job Description
Operation
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the transport department across all branches.
• Ensure timely deliveries through efficient route planning and vehicle allocation.
• Coordinate between departments to streamline workflows and minimize delays.
• Maintain discipline and professionalism among drivers and operations staff, including implementing company policies and procedures.
• Monitor daily KPIs and trip allowances to ensure operational targets are met and take corrective actions where necessary.
Customer Service
• Continuously evaluate and improve transport processes with a focus on enhancing customer satisfaction.
• Implement strategies to improve service quality, reliability, and responsiveness.
• Conduct training programs to enhance driver behavior, safety, and customer interaction skills.
Maintenance
• Lead and manage an in-house team of mechanics to ensure timely, high-quality maintenance for the entire fleet.
• Develop and enforce preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to reduce breakdowns and extend vehicle lifespan.
• Monitor vehicle performance, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and maintain accurate service records.
• Maintain vehicle downtime below a defined threshold (e.g., under 3%) to maximize fleet availability and utilization.
Operational Optimisation
• Maximize fleet utilization by leveraging TMS (GPS, sensors, and cameras) to track performance and optimize routes based on demand patterns.
• Continuously review and improve operational systems to enhance efficiency and boost overall performance.
• Ensure all trucks meet licensing, registration, and regulatory standards, keeping documentation up to date with timely renewals.
• Propose and implement improvements and process restructuring to align with company objectives.
Budget Management
• Develop and oversee the annual budget for the transport department.
• Regularly monitor financial performance against the budget, identify any discrepancies, and take prompt corrective actions.
• Maintain tight cost control across key areas, including fuel, maintenance, staffing, and procurement.
• Design and implement strategies for cost reduction to improve overall financial efficiency.
Market Expansion and Revenue Growth
• Look for new customers, especially in sectors like fast-moving consumer goods and beverages.

Job Requirements
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in transport, fleet, or logistics operations
• At least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role
• Experience managing multi-branch operations preferred
• Experience in FMCG, beverage, or distribution sector is an advantage
• Proven experience in budget control and cost management
